NEW PROJECT FOR MARGINALISED WOMEN AND GIRLS |
Last November we were invited to put forward a project outline to help marginalised and abused women and girls in Ecuador. We duly submitted the project, which includes building a respite home, starting a chicken farm and administering grants. This June we have received the green light to go ahead with this major project, and we hope to begin building in the next few months. We will be working closely with the Baptist Church, here in Santo Domingo. We will be building on land donated to the church for developing a social project. It is an exciting time, and we are looking for the right people to help us to develop and manage this new ministry. |

The Liat house in San Domingo |
In September 2004 Jill bought a house to serve as a centre for the charity. It is a large, white, one storey building near the Olympic swimming pool in Santo Domingo. It has an enormous living room, ideal for functions and meetings. The idea of the house is that it will be the location for a class for children with physical and learning disabilities. Currently there is no provision for these children in Santo Domingo. |
